Happy National Siblings Day to the best sibling I know! Here we are walking in the Palsahingin Fiesta, June 1989. I remember neither Kuya nor I knew what was going on since our parents didn’t prep us for walking in a parade. We just knew we had to dress up. I wasn’t a fan of wearing dresses or makeup back then; Kuya’s barong was itchy. In short, we were miserable. I thank God, though, for Mom and Dad enlisting us in the festivities. Kuya and I were part of a family event. The adult in me appreciates the tradition of that. The sister in me is grateful for this photo with her brother. To me, there will never be enough photos in the world of awkward Grace with grumpy Gilbert that I will not love forever and ever.
I love you, Kuya, forever and ever.
Thanks to my Ate Tess for finding this gem. We’ll treasure this always.
